The 21 of November 2024, the Department of Management of the University of Turin and AMAPOLA organized the event “Climate Change and Gender Gap: A Bi-Univocal Perspective”.
The event featured contributions from Maurizio Cisi (Professor) and Marilena Gambardella (Researcher), who presented key topics such as ecological transition, the inclusion of minorities in decision-making processes, and the importance of female leadership in managing change, all framed from a bi-univocal perspective.
The speakers highlighted:
- The bidirectional nature of the phenomenon, emphasizing how climate change exacerbates existing gender gaps, which in turn limits the effectiveness of climate solutions.
- The necessity of an integrated approach to address both phenomena as interdependent, fostering inclusive sustainability.
The discussions were supported by data and statistics from international sources, providing students and researchers with an opportunity to reflect on the skills needed to tackle global challenges and contribute to building a more equitable and sustainable economic system.
The speakers also delved into UNI PdR 125:2022 standards from a gender perspective, explaining the ISO standards and KPIs available to companies worldwide for achieving gender balance and enhancing corporate sustainability.
The event saw the participation of 52 attendees, including 24 women and 28 men. Among them were 7 non-Italians, including 6 Europeans and 1 Albanian.
This initiative served as an important platform to explore innovative strategies and solutions aimed at promoting sustainable development that integrates social equity, inclusion, and respect for gender diversity.
